Weather Week: Are We Turning Into Seattle?

Only happy when it rains?
It stands to reason that the Seahawks win in the Super Bowl would produce some oddball phenomena around the country. In the case of Houston, it would appear, for this week anyway, we have had their weather foisted upon us. Next thing you'll know, we'll all wear flannel and suffer from seasonal effective disorder because for most of this week, it is going to be pretty damn dreary around these parts.

Expect rain early today with some clearing by tonight. Tomorrow should be our one day reprieve from the rain and clouds before another round settles in Thursday and lasts through most of the weekend.

The front that passed through on Sunday dropped temperatures considerably and it should remain cloudy and cool today with highs in the low 60s. Same temperatures tomorrow though only partly cloudy skies. By Thursday, another front will push through and we'll see cloudy and cold conditions through the weekend with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s.

There will also be a decent chance of rain Thursday, but that will diminish into Saturday evening before clearing out.

At this point, it doesn't appear we are in for a freeze in the immediate Houston area though parts to the north and west of the city could see the mercury drop into the upper 20s to low 30s at the end of the week. As we move into next week, temps should moderate just a bit but the wet weather will continue as we settle into a rainier pattern for the next couple weeks.

For the moment, you might as well get out your Doc Martins and down some coffee. The weather will certainly be appropriate for it.
