In the first "I swear this is going to be a better year than last year" moment of 2013, police have reported Wednesday that they have apprehended all three of the suspects in the December 21 murder of Joshua Wood. For those not familiar with the crime, he was shot and killed over a pair of Nike Air Jordan tennis shoes.

The suspects, pictured above, are Neal Bland, 18, Anthony Wade, 19, and Keagean Arrington, 19. If their dates of birth are accurate, Bland allegedly was involved in this crime on his eighteenth birthday.
According to police reports, the shooting happened at 10:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Plumwood Drive on the north side of Houston. Wood and the driver of the vehicle purchased several pairs of the shoes at Willowbrook Mall and headed home. When they reached the driver's home, an armed suspect allegedly demanded the shoes.
The driver fled on foot with a suspect shooting at him. Wood apparently attempted to get in the driver seat to escape, but was shot and eventually crashed the car in between two homes. He was taken to Houston Northwest Hospital, where he died. The driver was uninjured.
