Ole Henriksen Promises to Give Your Eyes a Lift as the World Is Coming to an End
That damn Mayan calendar prophecy was bad enough when it was just the world exploding or being swallowed by a black hole or whatever. But when Ole Henriksen, maker of fine rejuvenating eye care products (and name for Ikea entertainment centers), among other things, discovered that December 21 was also the shortest day of the year, well, that was the last straw.
In a press release, the skin care product manufacturer reminds us all, "Even though it's hard to waken when the sun's not up and a struggle to get through the dark day, [you can] look alert and alive with bright, plump, smooth eyes." Yes, and it's also difficult to "waken" when you're dead from a cataclysmic apocalypse.
Henriksen, according to the company Web site, began the long road to skin care fame in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he was "a show dancer and model." Of course he was. Now he brings his spa-quality skin care to the masses, especially when the end is nigh. After all, Sting said it best: "When the world is running down, you make the best of what's still around."
In this case, that is your beautiful complexion...right before the skin is melted off your face from the searing heat of the solar flare bearing down on earth. You might end up looking like that creepy German guy after he looked at the faces of angels when they opened the arc of the covenant in Raiders of the Lost Arc, but you don't have to start out that way!
