One victim will survive, police say
Two men were shot early this morning as they sat in a car in front of a far westside apartment complex, police say; they managed to drive away and call 911 but one died and the other is hospitalized with gun wounds.

HPD has not released the name of either victim involved in the incident that happened about 4:30 a.m. this morning. The deceased male's identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, HPD says..

The two had been sitting in a car in front of the Aspen Ridge apartment complex at 10555 Spice Lane "when they were approached and confronted for unknown reasons by two unknown black male suspects," HPD says.

The driver drove a few blocks to a Wells Fargo branch near the Sam Houston Tollway and Beechnut.

They called 911 and both were taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. The passenger died there; the driver is expected to survive.

Police have no information on motive or suspects.

Anyone with information in this case or on the identity of the wanted suspect is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
