Christopher Clark Pollett: Former Kid's Charity Exec Gets Six Years for Huge Child-Porn Stash

Categories: Courts, Crime

Big stash, not-so-big sentence.
Christopher Clark Pollett, a former executive with the respected nonprofit Neighborhood Centers Inc., has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

The 64-year-old will also be fined $7,800, pay $21,000 in restitution to three victims, and "serve the rest of his life on supervised release upon completion of his prison term," prosecutors say, but that still seems light considering the collection he has admitted owning:

In addition to the computer media found in his home, Pollett had 8 mm film reels, books and binders which contained images of naked minors. The examination of the items found revealed more than 17,000 digital images and approximately 400 videos which contained child pornography.

The collection included, prosecutors say, pictures of "children under the age of 12 being sexually violated by adults, in positions which caused their genitalia to be displayed in a lewd/lascivious manner and being penetrated by a foreign object."

Prosecutors noted, "In handing down the sentence today, Judge [Lee] Rosenthal stated that the victims in the images and videos are real children who have been sexually tortured and consumers of this material like the defendant are the reason for their suffering as his consumption creates a demand for the material."

Pollett entered a guilty plea to the charges last November.

He was arrested in January while he was an employee at NCI. He was the agency's director of Planning, Research & Evaluation and "had no direct interaction with clients of the agency," NCI said at the time.

The agency -- which provides an array of services beyond dealing with children and school issues -- put out this statement at the time of the guilty plea:

Neighborhood Centers Inc. is deeply concerned about the allegations against an agency employee.

We learned today that the employee has been charged with distribution of child pornography through use of computers located in his home.

Upon learning of the indictment, Neighborhood Centers Inc. immediately placed the employee on suspension.

The agency has tight controls on internal computer usage, including searches, emails and communications. These controls immediately flag any inappropriate systems usage.

The employee, Chris Pollet, is the Director of Planning, Research & Evaluation. In this position, Mr. Pollet had no direct interaction with clients of the agency.
