Perry Demands Obama Apologize for Holder's "Incendiary" Remarks
Governor Rick Perry took time out of his busy schedule of telling the federal government to kiss his ass and whopping up on socialists to demand an apology from the President for remarks made by the U.S. Attorney General at the NAACP convention held in Houston last week. Apparently, Perry thought Holder's characterization of the Texas voter ID law as Jim Crow-like. Panties, commence wadding:
Just kickin' Holder's ass and raisin' hell.
"In labeling the Texas voter ID law as a "poll tax," Eric Holder purposefully used language designed to inflame passions and incite racial tension. It was not only inappropriate, but simply incorrect on its face.
"The president should apologize for Holder's imprudent remarks and for his insulting lawsuit against the people of Texas."
The governor is apparently unaware that the voter ID law was, in and of itself, already a bit of a tension inducer among the minority community, and part of the reason it is currently being litigated in federal court. The federal government contends that the law is in violation of the Voting Rights Act and is discriminatory towards minorities and the elderly.
Supporters of the law, including Perry, argue that the law is simply designed to prevent voter fraud.
Either way, the governor don't take kindly to government bigwigs messin' with his Texas. We're guessing an apology from the President won't be forthcoming, but we'll keep you posted.
