Comment of the Day: The "I'm From Texas" Edition
We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.
So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning or afternoon from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.
This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.
Whenever a list is made about anything related to the state of Texas, there are going to be dissenters. We took on the task of providing a short list of things you would know if you were from the Lone Star State. A few took offense. One decided to make a personal list.

I know I'm a real Texan because: 1) I was born here. 2) I despise lists of things designed to tell me if I'm a Texan. 3) When I lived overseas, even Germans recognized my accent. 4) I only went to high school football games to make money off the pictures I took. 5) I know how to use a cast net for bait. 6) I can go to the grocery store to get Blue Bell ice cream without have to go to a hick town like Brenham. 7) I don't wear cowboy boots because they hurt my feet and I don't want to look like some hick from Brenham. 8) I can shoot the eyeball out of a carnival shooting gallery duck with a BB gun. 9) Many of my neighbors are Hispanic and I like them. 10) On "Go Texan" day I wear a nice pair of slacks, a collared t-shirt, and comfortable shoes just like every other day.
We bow to your superior list, good sir. Well done.
