If you were two seconds late posting your "BREAKING NEWS!" report of the Supreme Court decision largely upholding Obamacare, you were left in the dust and looking like a fool, fool.

Hey, dude, tell us something we don't already know! You get your news by Pony Express? Harrumph. frowny face, etc etc.

On the other hand you can be like CNN, which first broadcast that the Affordable Care Act had been tossed out before correcting that to imply that it hadn't.

Anyway, here's how the (mostly Houston-centric) Twitterverse reacted to the news this morning:

Maeve Reston @MaeveReston: After CNN's breaking news alert, Wolf Blitzer is telling viewers to take a deep breath and hold on. Thank God for newspapers.

Melissa Lafsky Wall @Lafsky: From "HAS BEEN STRUCK DOWN" to "MAY BE UPHELD" in under 2 minutes. #CNNfail pic.twitter.com/v4Ao9oGe

EileenDSmith @EileenDSmith: ENTIRE LAW UPHELD HOLY SH*T

Matt Glazer @MattGlazer: If Progressives feel like I do right now, enthusiasm gap is closed. Progressive will rally! It's on! Wow. Speechless!

Adam Goldman @goldmandc: CNN should subscribe to AP.

Erik Vidor @ErikVidor: IT'S ALMOST TIME TO GET BACK TO WRITING THAT PAPER BUT GLOATING IS FUN!! #OBAMAFORTHEWIN

Joshua Green @JoshuaGreen: I'll bet NOBODY had Kennedy/conservative, Roberts/liberal in their bracket

Mike Pomeroy @mikeypomeroy: Does this mean my long-dormant crush on Chief Justice Roberts can live again?

And, finally, tragedy:
Shannon Bream @ShannonBream: NO! SCOTUS sprinklers just came on - soaking tons of audio/tv equipment - several crew guys and lots of cables

Update: Rock Perry has weighed in on the issue, in his usual understated manner:

This ruling will be a stomach punch to the American economy. It is a shocking disappointment to freedom-loving Americans desperate to get our country back on track. Obamacare is bad for the economy, bad for health care, bad for freedom. Americans have made clear their overwhelming opposition to its convoluted, burdensome and overreaching mandates.

Freedom was frontally attacked by passage of this monstrosity - and the Court utterly failed in its duty to uphold the Constitutional limits placed on Washington. Now that the Supreme Court has abandoned us, we citizens must take action at every level of government and demand real reform, done with respect for our Constitution and our liberty.
