Nueces County Jail
Adrian Avalos: Pussies send career criminal back to the pokey.
An alleged Carancahua Drive cat burglar was foiled by the meowing cries of a coterie of Corpus Christi kitty cats, police there said.

According to a CCPD press release, a woman was washing dishes around midnight Friday when she heard her cats "going crazy" behind her house. When she looked out her dining-room window, she was shocked to see the bald, dazed-looking Adrian Avalos looking back at her.

The woman called 911 and police arrived minutes later. They found the 48-year-old Avalos hiding inside her screened-in porch. Everything happened so fast -- from kitty-alarm to 911 call to police response -- that Avalos was unable to steal anything or flee.

Avalos was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

According to online records, Avalos has dozens of convictions dating back 30 years for a mixed bag of drug offenses, theft, DWI and burglary. When the kitties dropped a dime on him Friday, Avalos was on parole for a 2010 drug conviction.

Dude ... I know you?!  Mr. Magoo!!!  O.K., I'm showin' my age.  But, if McBarker would've been there, those cats wouldn't have been an issue ... "Oh Magoo, you've done it again!"
