Still undefeated at the new digs.
The Houston Dynamo kept their undefeated record at BBVA Compass Stadium alive on Tuesday night, by virtue of a 0-0 draw against the Portland Timbers.

The streak also has the Dynamo earning their second consecutive shutout, a feat they haven't done since opening the season with a pair of shutout wins against Chivas USA and the San Jose Earthquakes.

Snapped is their winning streak, which ended at one.

Rather than focus on the numerous chances on goal that were squandered by the Dynamo -- especially in the second half -- let's focus on the defense.

Houston head coach Dominic Kinnear knew he wanted to limit Portland forward Darlington Nagbe's shots on goal. He knew the Timbers were going to want to play Kris Boyd up top with Nagbe making runs from behind.

"I thought we defended very well," Kinnear said. "They broke at times very dangerous on us, but I thought all in all we had a pretty good game."

As in Saturday night's opener against DC United, the Dynamo didn't really start clicking until the start of the second half. They dominated Portland nearly the entire second half.

One of the main reasons was the play of Jermaine Taylor, who's been shutting down the right flank the past two games. Kinnear says they've been asking a little more of Taylor this season.

"He's played everything but his natural position; he's played left back, right back, left back again," Kinnear said in his post-game press conference. "He takes it in stride and he's playing well. We're asking him to get forward and he's doing that."

"I think he can maybe take it easy on the 35-40 yard shots, but other than that I think he's having a great season for us."

The Dynamo will go back on the road after their short two-game home swing. The Dynamo will take on the New England Revolution in Gillette Stadium on Saturday, then return home to unveil their third kit against the LA Galaxy.

My son and I attended last night's match and were wondering if there is a site for the songs that are sung during the game by one of the bands in the southeast end of the stadium? It was tough to make out some of the words but if I had to guess, I'd say the songs are in Spanish.

Dennis, check out walkerendhouston.com. That's the websites for the supporters groups. They're trying to make these more available to the general public so we can have the entire stadium singing instead of just one corner.
