Jarod Barry, 30, who left the Marines in January with an "other than honorable" discharge, was sentenced after entering a guilty plea last June. He had been a sergeant.
Investigators found him trading child-porn images and video on the web, and when they searched his house in Spring they found "a desktop computer with approximately 258 videos containing child pornography," the U.S. Attorney's Office says.
The images, the USAO says, "included children under 12 being sexually violated by adults, children being raped, strangled while being violated and bondage involving children."
In this brief item from USMilitary.com, Barry talks about working with Iraqi soldiers in Haditha City as part of the 3rd Battalion of the 23rd Marines.
