Aero Justin Fontaine Tweets About "Foo Faggots," Gets Suspended

The fail is strong in this one.
Houston Aero Justin Fontaine has been suspended for two games for a Grammy tweet in which he said, "I disagree, the Foo Faggots were awful."

The Aeros' parent team, the Minnesota Wild, announced the action last night.

"Minnesota Sports and Entertainment (MSE) apologizes for the offensive slur that was posted by Justin Fontaine on Twitter last night. Fontaine has been suspended from playing in the next two games for the Houston Aeros," the team said in a statement.

Fontaine apologized via Twitter, writing, "My apologies to everyone, it was wrong. Twitter rookie and it came out totally wrong. It was a roommate battle, nothing more. #sorry".

This morning he added, "@dustinpjones you a 100% right, I still feel awful about it and want to apologize to everyone again. Its a word ill never use again."

(Dustin Jones had tweeted to someone else: "he can have his opinion but he needs a better choice of words. He was trying to be funny and was offensive. End of story.")

Aeros captain Jon DiSalvatore retweeted the "Foo Faggot" tweet but was not disciplined. In a later response to a fan he wrote, "ya we never mean to disrespect we want to keep it clean and fun.Neverpersonal."

I'm not saying that his choice of words were appropriate, but he certainly didn't coin the phrase either. Maybe he should sponsor a contest to find a better derogatory phrase for the Foo Fighters. There have to be hundreds that don't unfairly associate a group of people with such a crappy band.

Right... He'll never use it again? More like he'll _never get caught_ using it again. What an idiot!
