Kirt Yarbrough Sr.: Sixteen-year vet molested girl born the year he joined the force, allegedly.
A month ago, the Houston Press brought you an in-depth story chronicling how cops nationwide have molested dozens of teenage police cadets who had enrolled in the Explorer Program, which is chartered through Boys Scouts of America subsidiary Learning for Life.

As if to drive home the veracity of our story, a Killeen cop was charged with sexual assault earlier this month after he allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old female Explorer.

According to KXXV, Kirt Yarbrough Sr. was placed on administrative leave on January 4 and arrested on January 12 after an investigation by the Bell County District Attorney's office. Yarbrough, a 16-year veteran, posted his $100,000 bond the day of his arrest. The continuing investigation could result in the filing of additional charges, Killeen cops said in a press release.

KCEN dug up more lurid details over the weekend.

They reported that the incident happened in December. Yarbrough reportedly took the girl to a Killeen motel and performed a sex act on her. The motel confirmed that Yarbrough did rent a room there on December 19. Cellphone pictures show Yarbrough and the girl smooching, as have texts believed to be indicative of a sexual relationship.

Killeen's police department has suspended the program pending an administrative review. Killeen police chief Dennis Baldwin released this statement:

"The badge of a Police Officer is a symbol of the public's faith and trust. Any criminal act involving police officers dishonors this symbol and violates the trust the community places in them. The Killeen Police Department works diligently to provide the best police services possible and to build trust with the community."

We imagine similar pretty speeches were given when similar travesties occurred in Brownwood, Cedar Park, Fort Worth and Corsicana, Texas, not to mention the 11 incidents in Florida, or the documented forty-plus other cases nationwide.

You all do know that just as in Law Enforcement, Journalists have a standing Code of Ethics?  Seems that much less press related people follow that than said law enforcement officers do theirs.  Google it…read it….just saying.

Let's see Leftists (the writers of the various newspapers that feed this site) denigrate one of the sacred cows of the Left, i.e. Public Education. Your kid is a lot safer with cops than they are with many Teachers. Of course, that only really rates juicy headlines if they can involve Private Schools, especially those religious based ones. Remember the one that made sure to include CATHOLIC in the headline the other day? But the writer has more of a loyalty to his politics than he does to journalism. Besides, their paper (and the others of this ilk) have to push those ads for Topless Joints, Head Shops, and Cosmetic Surgery Specials in their back pages.

Ah, come on Tim. I am pretty sure that the lead in said nothing about what party this dude is voting for. So you start your rant with "Let's see Leftists...." and YOU are crying politics? And if this paper is so so Lefty bad, are you here to read or just be a fucking troll?

Is that your go to comment when you don't really understand things?  I'll bet you are the sort of doofus who still says when he sees someone with a camera, "Ha ha, huh huh..you're going to break the lens...huh, huh, huh."

It only seems that way to you because you are a loon. To the rest of us normal people, we dont see it that way.

Its pretty funny how you totally backed away from your politcal accusations when he made you look like a fool by pointing out the compelte lack of politics in this article.

I always find it funny when a person doesnt have a real comeback, they have to complain about grammar. Contine to cry over a missed keystroke you pussy.

And if you find that entertaining, then you have a truly pathetic life.

But it seems that you write about those as if they were isolated incidents and not a trend, per se, as you did with law enforcement types.

And even with that, most writers, who are or were part of academia had to dragged into ever really addressing the huge amount of pervy teachers.  Only the number of cases have caused journalists to do so.

And yes, I say as with editorial selection, that can be a form of bias.  Perhaps it's subtle, but it's there.

If you are going to accuse one of ignorance, you might want to avoid writing "its" when you should be writing "it's."

I make errors in writing, we all do.  But when done in the same sentence as you did, that's true entertainment.

Nope. Its my comment when a loon is grasping to make a point, but fails to do so because he is full of shit.Continue to spread your ignorance, its entertaining.

Tim, you must be new here, because I write about public school teachers molesting kids all the time. I mean, a lot. I also write about pervy parents, Catholic priests and teachers, Protestant ministers and church employees...makes no difference to me.  I assure you my politics (of which you no exactly nothing) had nothing to do with this article.
