Occupy Houston: Arrests Made at Port

Action this day.
The Occupy Houston protesters took to the Port of Houston today, with about 70 people showing up and several arrests made for blocking a service road, according to some estimates.

HPD and the sheriff's office were out in force, including mounted patrols, and seemed to have a preplanned procedure for processing the arrests. They also had barriers to keep other protesters out of the road.

The protesters did succeed in shutting down traffic on one road for at least a while.

Occupy Houston said on its Web site that it was

joining our brothers and sisters in the Occupy movement around the United States in a coordinated action targeting the nation's ports. This event is an expression of solidarity with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and West Coast truck drivers who have come under attack this year, as well as a statement against the multinational conglomerates and their relentless campaign to outsource American jobs and undermine our economy in the pursuit of ever-widening profit margins.

Later this afternoon, about 4 p.m., protesters are expected to march "From Tranquility Park on down the length of downtown Main St. from in a visible display of support for the West Coast Port Shutdown effort and the American working class," the Web site says.

Is it okay for Texas politicians to have an insider source and invest in insider trading; and then dump all their stocks as soon as the general public buys into a stock, screwing them into the loses? While those politicians profit anywhere from $500,000 to $5 million per stock transaction sale, just for legally being able to commit insider trading since Senators & Congressmen are exempt from that law ... thats okay with everyone?

These selfish clowns only care about themselves.

Notice they weren't able to shut down anything. FAIL.

Absolute morons.  Attempting to shut down business is not free speech, it's a crime.  They should all be arrested, de-loused, and put on a prison chain gang.
