C-SPAN Geeks Unite! The Bus Is Coming to Town!

The 2011 edition is coming!!
It takes a certain kind of nerd to admit it, but we will -- C-SPAN is on our regular, limited weeknight channel-clicking rotation. First, see if there's breaking news on CNN, then see if there's even a low-rent college football game, and then on to the glories of House and Senate hearings, seminars on the Warren G. Harding presidency, or watching the tape on an Obama event run until he has shaken every last hand in the audience to the strains of Sousa and finally leaves the room.

It is a sickness.

But C-SPAN fans can indulge in it tomorrow when the Campaign 2012 Bus comes to two Houston schools.

Anyone who's seen the five-minute fillers between events on the network knows the bus is filled with gizmos and often the stops are filmed. Meaning you might show up on C-SPAN. OMG!! OMG!!

The enticing array includes:

Visitors will learn about the following programming and resources via HD TVs, touch screen computers, laptops, and mobile devices: -- C-SPAN's in-depth public affairs event coverage -- C-SPAN's web offerings, including archived video going back to 1987 through C-SPAN's vast -- Video Library and Congressional Chronicle -- Many ways to connect with C-SPAN on the go including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, YouTube, XM Radio, and iPhone and Blackberry apps

Kewl.

Houston is "among the first" stops on the current tour.

The schedule:

Bammel Middle School 9 - 11:30am
16711 Ella Boulevard

Hogg Middle School 12:30 - 2:30pm
1100 Merrill St.
