Video: Hanukkah-Loving Rick Perry Dances Around the Menorah

It's not nearly as bizarre as Tom Delay's appearance on Dancing With the Stars, but this video of Governor Rick Perry celebrating Hanukkah with a group of orthodox Jewish rabbis, intentionally or otherwise, is damn funny if for no other reason than Perry is trying his best not to look really, really uncomfortable and failing.

Perry, a staunch conservative Christian, to his credit, clearly is doing what he can to accommodate a ritual that must make him feel a tad off his game, but we can't help but chuckle at the end result. Watch the hilarity after the jump.

Reminds me of Bush when he's in places he does'nt wanna be.

Give the guy a break.  He was very patient throughout and I didn't think he looked all that uncomfortable doing the dance.  Rick Perry has been a longtime friend of the Jewish community and a strong supporter of Israel, which is more than I can say for Barack Obama.

He says "Merry Christmas" to rabbis! What an idiot.

I thought when Rick grabbed the lighter at about the 4 minute mark he needed it to light a fart. Sure looks like he accomplished his mission if you look carefully.

I'd rather be a strong supporter of this country and the American people than a strong supporter of a certain religious group and a state that doesn't have our interests in mind and never have.

Read Kissinger's "Years of Upheaval."  Golda Meir wrote a nasty letter to Kissinger when he chastised Israel for violating a ceasefire and threatening US-Soviet relations.  Israel isn't a friend or even an ally.  If they want to keep on receiving massive amounts of US guns and money, then they need to respect US hegemony and US interests in the region.  Otherwise stop sucking our teat and go defend your own country.  Go buy some MiGs and not get free F-16s.  Put up or shut up.

You know he thinks you're going to hell, right?

Question - why do you spend so much time on a blog you hate?

That is, if you're Jewish.

Asking a troll why they troll is like asking a beaver why they build dams. They just have to.

I am, and maybe I'll eventually get to meet you there. I attended East Texas Baptist College back in 1943 and was told every day that I was going to hell.  Then I volunteered for the army and soon their prediction became true.  Cheers!

"Your false belief I give a F what you think..."

Sorry, I took that to mean, "I don't care what you think," directed at Wyatt. The amount of time you spend on responding, even if it's not too much in the long wrong, still makes it seem like you do care.

"This section I find laughable and childish."

This is the section in which you have a highly visible presence. I should have said "blog" instead of "website." I regret not being more precise.

When I asked you if you were full of shit much I obviously meant to challenge your assertion the original sentence was nearly unreadable. Admit you understood it just fine but felt the need to try and degrade me, albeit unsuccessfully.

Where did I profess to hate anything? Are you now resorting to putting words in my mouth to try and prove something? You're failing. There are actually parts of this website I actually enjoy. This section I find laughable and childish. Hypocrisy abounds here. Do I "hate" it? No.

Q: How would someone deduct I don't care what they think unless I tell them? Read my mind?

Not at all. If I say that you're self-aggrandizing, that could indeed be referred to as, say, polite word choice (polite, given the circumstances). Using the phrase "word choice" in that situation is correct.

Speaking of people who are full of shit, as the previous commenter noted, you spend a lot of time on a website you profess to hate. You also spend a lot of time replying to people whose opinions you claim to disregard. Strange behavior for someone who allegedly doesn't care what people think.

"Word choice" can refer to multiple words in a text, or in this case, a nearly unreadable comment.

No, you're not. Feel free to appear sad, bored and hateful without even bothering to defend yourself.
