Rick Perry: Maybe "Ponzi Scheme" Isn't the Slogan to Win the White House

New poll suggests the answer is "no."
Yes, Public Policy Polling is a Democratic outfit, but nevertheless their new poll released today has some interesting tidbits.

"In just three weeks Barack Obama has nearly doubled his lead over Rick Perry," said Dean Debnam, PPP president. "That would seem to be an indication that Perry's comments about Social Security are giving him trouble with swing voters."

What? Voters like Social Security and don't want to vote for a guy who calls it a "Ponzi scheme"? Who knew?

The poll shows Obama leading all GOP candidates, but like we said it's a Democratic firm, so take the necessary grains of salt.

Here are the favorable/unfavorable ratings for leading GOP candidates:

Perry: 50 percent unfavorable, 30 percent favorable
Bachmann: 53 unfavorable, 30 percent favorable
Romney: 44 percent favorable, 37 percent favorable
Gingrich: 57 percent unfavorable, 28 percent favorable.

Wait, don't these people ever watch Fox News?

Other questions show more than half the respondents saying they believe in global warming and evolution, and 70 percent disagreeing with the "Ponzi scheme" statement.

But, you know, keep at it, governor. People just need a little more convincin'.

The fact that Dick Ferry is the clear front-runner on every single poll goes a long way to prove that for conservatives, ideology and rhetoric is more important that facts and science. Please nominate this clown, GOPers. Then we will crush you at the polls...

No matter how you slice it, one of these bozos will win.

New Census data this week shows a rise in poverty.  Obama himself saif four years ago that if he could not fix the economy he'd be a one termer.
