FBI Releases Photo of Bank Robbers Leaving Kroger
It takes a lot of chutzpah to rob a bank. Doing it in the middle of Thursday afternoon near a well-to-do neighborhood is even more bold. But choosing a bank that is inside a Kroger is damn brazen.
Think they used their Kroger Plus Card? You can get discounts on gas at Shell with that thing.
Of course, the disadvantage of such a move is that you are likely to have your picture taken by a security camera, say when you're strolling out of the store, just like the gentlemen pictured above. Now the FBI is asking for help in identifying the suspects.
The robbery took place at the First Convenience Bank located inside the Kroger at 5150 Buffalo Speedway (WASP Kroger for those of you in the know) on the mere outskirts of West University. They walked into the Kroger at 2:45 p.m. on September 8, assaulted two bank employees while they were filling up the ATM machine, grabbed two cash canisters and took off in a gold Dodge Caravan with a third suspect doing the driving.
One of the robbers is described as a black male, in his early twenties, approximately 5'3" with a slim build and light complexion. The other was also a black male in his early twenties, approximately 5'10" tall, with a slim build and medium to dark complexion.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of both of the robbers and their getaway driver. Call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 713-222-TIPS (8477), or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000 if you have any information.
