Comment of the Day: The Pros & Cons Of Panhandling

Categories: Whatever

We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

The city extended its panhandling ban at ATMS and gas pumps to include sidewalk cafes, and our piece on it brought a slew of comments pro and con.

Obviously, this is long overdue. The threat of a fine or jail time is sure to strike fear in the hearts of Houston's homeless.

It's so troubling to be reminded that some people don't have food to eat or a roof over their head. Plus some of these folks do not shower every day.

It makes me uncomfortable.

Why can't these panhandlers stay home and send out email scam requests to get money like normal people?

Could you guys at the Press start a Stupidiest Comment of the Day just for Tony's Thing.   Thank you.

Tony's Thing
Tony's Thing

I am FAR more worried about minority high school dropouts and unwed baby-daddy mommas freaks on welfare ruining America than I am about some poor bum begging for a rich guy fora dollar.

This city and state need to wake the hell up and see what time it is.

It's time to get REAL and the bums are not our problem.
