Here's Something: Obama Polls As Well As Perry in Texas; Both Over 50 Percent

Here's something we wouldn't have guessed: Texans give President Obama about as good a job approval rating as they do Governor Rick Perry.

More surprising, both are over 50 percent.

The Texas Lyceum has a new poll out, and it shows Obama with an approval rating of 51 percent among Texans, while Perry is at 54 percent. With a margin of error of 3.7 percent, that's pretty close.

Some of Obama's rating, the Lyceum says, can be traced to the killing of Osama Bin Laden, which happened three weeks before the polling began. But even last year at this time Obama had a 47 percent approval rating in Texas, the Lyceum says. The poll is of likely voters.

And what about a Perry presidential run?

Not so good. Of those polled, 48 percent said they planned to vote in the Republican primary and 33 percent in the Democratic.

Of those GOP voters, the percentage who said they would vote for Perry if he was running was....nine.

Almost double figures!!

Perry did edge out Herman Cain. Mitt Romney led the way with 16 percent, Sarah Palin had 14 percent, Ron Paul had 10 and then came the Perry juggernaut.

Obama's approval rating here, for what it's worth, doesn't make Texas in play in 2012. Asked who they'd vote for in 2012, 35 percent said Obama and 44 percent said "Republican candidate."

So, we either have another biased poll designed as an attempt to save Obama, or we have an increase of idiocy in the Lone Star state. Texas has experienced a large influx in population. It's a shame that one of the results would be so many out of touch whack jobs moving in. I am betting the poll is nonsense. However, the fact that morons from California are moving in and bringing their f-ed up politics should not be overlooked.

Every single person who voted for Obama in 2008 has been proven to be a jackass.  They were fooled by the moronic mantras of "hope and change" and "yes, we can".  Anyone can be fooled once, so shame on Obama for fooling so many Americans in 2008.  But if you are fooled for voting for Obama AGAIN in 2012, shame on you.  A vote for Obama the jug-eared Clown in 2012, and his crazy court jester, "Mad" Joe Biden, is beyond understanding, unless you want to destroy any chance to create a business, innovate in an existing business, find a job, or a doctor, or keep any money you might earn.

You like the direction this country is moving in?  Double-dip recession, inflation about to explode, gas prices through the roof.

This jackass administration is about to arbitrarily force coal power plants to limit mercury emissions which have NEVER conclusively been shown to hurt a SINGLE soul and forcing compliance will raise EVERY SINGLE PERSON's in the country electric bill by 20 to 40%.  At the same time, they are FORCING us to buy Compact Fluorescent Lights, by phasing out incadescent bulbs.  Why? They use less power.  Nevermind that they SUCK as light sources in your home, and if you break one of the M*TH*R F*CK*RS in your house, you just exposed your kids, dogs, cats, and yourself to MORE mercury than you would get living 2 miles away from a coal-fired power plant FOR THIRTY GODD*MNED years under the existing rules.

Where the F*CK is the sense here?

It's senseless garbage like this that makes me wonder howinthehell any intelligent person could possibly vote a complete jackass like Obama for a 2nd term.  I'd vote for Osama bin Laden before I'd vote for Barrack Obama.  Oh wait, bin Laden's dead.  Apparently Obama's serious about trying to knock off his challengers.

How about talking real news?

Like the fact Obie One thinks ATMs and airport ticket kiosks are the reason for 10% unemployment.

That would mean ATM and kiosks caused 6% of today's unemployment vs. the Bush years.

Keep in mind these polls are often just liberals in the media trying to save Obama. They can make polls say whatever they want.

You'd vote for a terrorist who calculated the largest terrorist attack in American history to be president of the United States? What a patriot you are.

And since when was he Obama's political challenger? I guess I missed that Fox News report...

So you are saying mercury hasn't been shown to harm anyone, but when you are exposed to it you are harmed? I'm just trying to understand you.

Floski

I don't understand, are you being intentionally stupid?

It's clear he's talking about automation. More machines = more efficient with less workers. That's just a fact. With the modern factory, 1 worker can do what used to take 10 or 50. That means less available jobs.

Or are you somehow disputing that the assembly line and machinery have made businesses more efficient.

He's not saying mercury can't harm you, just that under current emission standards for coal fire plants there hasn't been an instance where an individuals health has declined because of mercury emissions that were the direct affect of a coal fire power plant and he's correct.  Individuals have attempted to sue such corporations, but the no such scientific evidence could link it to the power plant during the cases and no they weren't payoffs....

On the other hand these new EPA guidelines have been proposed and in process for over a decade.  So most of these coal fire giants who are complaining about the situation and passing their burdens on to the rate payer has only themselves to blame.  Any competent person could've planned ahead and broken out the cost of revamping existing facilities over time, but instead decided to just run these 40 and 50 year old plants into the ground at our expense.  By the way for the most part these coal fire giant executives normally come from government organizations or end up in them so its no surprise that our government is just as bad..
