Kathe Nacey: Granny Threatens to Blow Up Every Wells Fargo in the U.S. Over ATM Snafu

Kathleen Nacey got bomb-level mad.
The older we get, the more we start to sympathize with people like Kathe Nacey.

On Saturday, Willis cops were told that the 62-year-old had just stormed into a Wells Fargo bank in a rage. Apparently, Nacey's ATM card was not working at the Pulse machine outside. Maybe there was something wrong with the strip, or maybe the bank had not credited her account with a much-needed deposit. We're kind of betting on the latter.

At any rate, Nacey's inablity to get her hands on her green sent her into a blood-red fury, one that culminated in Nacey allegedly threatening to blow up not just that particular Wells Fargo, but also "all the other Wells Fargos."

In case you were wondering, there are 6,335 Wells Fargo branch banks in America. Where banks and technology intersect, anger is often the result.

While that just sounds like a ridiculous outburst from a cranky old lady to us, employees of the bank called in Nacey's threat to Willis cops, who took the threat very, very seriously. They even brought in the feds.

Nacey was sitting on one of the planters outside the bank when authorities arrived, and surprise, surprise: Agents and a bomb dog from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms found no evidence of explosives in the bank, in Nacey's truck or on her person.

Nevertheless, Nacey was charged with making a terroristic threat and hauled off to Montgomery County Jail. Her bond was set at $23,000.

Why is it acceptable to go into a place of business and make threats? This is not acceptable behavior as if those poor CSRs making minimum wage had any power to address these concerns...she will likely never do that again (treat people in a place of business to threats and rage) and if any one thinks twice because of this incident that is called a deterrent. I don't think they overreacted if she would have done anything and they did not report it they would be liable.

Forget the bomb threats, she should be jailed for wearing that outrageous POS wig.  I've seen 80 year olds that look better.

waste of jail space...waste of tax payers money to bring the feds etc in..just a waste..every cop probably jumped at the chance to respond to this because it meant they didnt have to chase any real criminals for a couple hours..

People are really hateful sometimes and it is not the employees fault. We are just doing our job!! Please stop screaming, cussing us out and threatening us bodily harm. It is sad what as become of America.

What happened to the goddamn right to rage when need be? It is hard to believe that one can't differentiate between terrorist, and angry senior citizen. Calling out the Calvary for this is absurd, and only helps drive home the stupidity displayed so often by those responsible for making decisions. If granny was bombing the place I don't think she would sit on a planter outside and wait for the fireworks. The outburst of anger is not the crime, the way in-which society handles such outbursts these days, IS.

In fairness, she probably wasn't credited with a deposit because of Wells Fargo's ridiculous policies involving the holding of YOUR money before crediting your deposit.  They admit that sometimes it could take up to 48 hours before you have access to YOUR money.  It pisses me off every time I have to deal with them- fortunately they are not my bank.

Bomb squad ?? oh lord.. no common sense !!! wasting tax payers money instead of focusing on real criminals.  Give me a break !!! She should've been asked to leave the bank or given a trespassing ticket if she was refusing to do so.

We have truly lost the use of common sense in America!

absolutely, in a police state thats what the police do.

Instead of trying to solve real crimes and putting down a donut long enough to catch a fucking running thief, they would rather act like they accomplished something by arresting a 62 year old who couldn;t out run them if she wanted to.

They were hoping the 9pm new headline would read "62 year old..terrorist...bomb...wells fargo...cops...credited quick action"

This just shows the stupidity of the police force. Being incapable of handling a 62 year old angry woman puts the police into perspective. Especially, when she was just sitting down and waiting for them to arrive. I'm surprised 12 cops didn't show up and taze the shit out of her and molest her with their clubs. Cops are pathetic!

No.  Sounds like a regular old citizen who is sick and tired of corporate America taking advantage of John ! Public.  Doesn't sound very Perry-like to me.

Yeah, because Rick Perry is SO anti-corporate America.  You clearly don't know anything about him or his politics if you believe that.  If you knew of the tax breaks, under-handed money exchanges, and bribes, er campaign contributions, that have changed hands between your beloved governor and corporate America you'd slap yourself for making that comment.  Remember- you can't spell corruption without RP.
