Kelly Kelly: Apparently not hot enough.
Dear, Kelly Kelly, How does it feel to only be the 17th hottest woman in Houston media?

During yesterday's J&R show on Sports Radio 610 AM, the two hosts, Josh Innes and Rich Lord, unveiled the winner of the "play-in game" in their Hottest Houston Media Women Tourney.

The single-elimination competition is fashioned after NCAA March Madness and pits Innes's and Lord's choices for the most bodacious babes in the Bayou City's media scene.

Unfortunately for Hot 95.7 FM's Kelly Kelly, she's apparently not worthy of the "Smokin' 16" because she fell to KHOU 11's Lisa Chavarria by a narrow 412-vote margin. The announcement was made during Monday's drive-time hour following an odd non sequitur celebrating the birthday of The Stylistics' Russell Thompkins Jr., the dreamboat-y falsetto lead in such love dusties as "You Make Me Feel Brand New" and "Betcha by Golly Wow."

Mariza Reyes: Apparently not hot enough.
According to the radio personalities, the votes were completely online based and didn't pooh-pooh multiple votes by the same perv sports talk radio listener.

As a result, the jock-tastic competition is attracting some controversy from the online community, many of whose members have also chimed in to cry foul about the original 17 selections. (For example, commenters are up in arms about Theresa from The Buzz 94.5 FM and KPRC 2's Mariza Reyes getting kicked to the curb.)

Also, Hair Balls noticed that online voting was originally slated to close at 2 p.m. but then it was inexplicably changed to 5 p.m. Shortly after the play-in game's end, the gal in charge of tallying the votes made an on-air announcement that there was a 2,000-vote surge (out of 7,336) between 4:30 and 5.

Was Kelly Kelly actually winning at 2 and that's why the competition was extended by three hours?

It all may be moot anyway because, according to the J&R show, number-eight-seed Chavarria will "pretty much get run over by [number-one-seed and KPRC 2 reporter] Jennifer Reyna . . . it's like Duke versus the College of Charleston."

Voting is currently open for games in the Rich Lord Conference, which includes Lucy Nolan of KHOU 11 and KIAH 39's Mia Gradney. The Josh Innes Conference donnybrooks, which features a four-five matchup between Fox 26's Natalie Bomke and KPRC 2's Lauren Freeman, gets going on Friday.

Where to begin....let's see...1. To the writer of this story, it's Lucy NOLAND not Nolan. Do your homework, idiot.2. Anything Josh is involved in is worthless. Hopefully his days are numbered at 610.3. As shallow and surgically enhanced as most of these women are, they're probably campaigning and voting for themselves. I've not heard one compIain about it, tho that will change as some of them (especially those with egos as big as their implants) begin losing by huge margins. 4. I say we have an all natural competition. Sure, only 3 or 4 of them would qualify to compete. But it would be better than looking at these Latoya Jackson-like scupltures.5. Why does Reyna get so much attention? I can think of 64 women AND men in Houston's media who I'd seed and fill an entire bracket with before I'd even consider placing her in the pairings. Geez!

This is the dumbest thing ever! Anna Megan is in the lead and she is the one in charge of this whole competition and counting the votes!! Yeah no foul play there! Her nana and her friends have been voting for her over and over again not to mention she selected the pictures to go up there and choose a horrible pic of Katherine Whaley who just so happens to be her competition. This is so rigged!! She is annoying and thinks she is way better than what she is

I vote we have a "Smallest Dicks in Houston Media Tourney" to go alongside this since that is how men's worth is evaluated in society.

This is too funny how this has expoded up. And it's funny how you bring all these things up. Being that Lisa Chavarria is drive home producer’s girlfriend, she had a slight advantage. There was no “cheating” involved, but there was definitely more voting coming in from 610 than what the D.J’s implied yesterday afternoon...and as you stated, the cut-off time change. Case in point, knowing that Lisa was Ben’s girlfriend and I have a lot of free time, I thought I would reek havoc and continuously vote for Kelly Kelly (I have no connection to her as I don’t listen to FM because we all know how bad Houston radio is). Around 12:30 yesterday afternoon, Kelly was up to 54% (Lisa 46%), then within a 5 minute span, and as fast as I was clicking on Kelly’s vote, Lisa caught up and it was a 51/49 split. Listening on the way home and hearing why these two were picked for the “play-in” game, I can definitely understand how and WHY Lisa had to catch up and win.

Congratulations on conquering the glass ceiling and breaking into the media world, ladies, now let's have a contest to see which of you is the hottest.

GFY, sports radio.

Jay, you're right on the money. Notice that the SportsRadio 610 website has removed the comments she made about how her mom and nana are stuffing the ballot box for her. Does the radio station want the contest to look legit and removed the comments, or did she wise up and realize there's a conflict of interest with her running the contest AND being a contestant. And for the comments implying the ladies included in the contest gave their consent ... I strongly suspect only one did (and she happens to be the one Jay pointed out!).

I don't count the votes. The computer does that. There are two photos of Katherine, and I think she's smokin'. I don't think I'm better than what I am, but I do think YOU ARE AWESOME.

As program director of 1560 the Game, Houston's independently owned sports radio station, I think this would be a fun competition.
