NBA All-Star Game: Come again?
Is the NBA All-Star Game that big a deal anymore? The game itself is a joke, the competitions attached to it, like the dunk contests, are shadows of their former selves.....oh, but the parties.

The parties surrounding an NBA All-Star game can be epic, and Houston wants to be in the epicenter of it all again.

Fox 26 reports the city and the Rockets are going after the 2014 game, which would be eight years after the last time the game was here.

Tad Brown, CEO of the Rockets and Toyota Center, tells the station they have submitted their application and have a strategy for winning their bid.

"First of all, you do a great job the first time you have it and then you work as hard as you possibly can to make sure the league understands that you are going to do an even better job, an even better event for the customers coming in, for the global audience to see the best players in the world play basketball, and we think we are going to be able to do that," Brown said.

This year's game is in LA. A decision on the 2014 site should come by the end of this year.
