War On Christmas Revived: Federal Court Gives "No Jesus Pencils!" Principals Another Chance

Categories: Courts

A setback in the War Against the War on Christmas
Just when you thought the War on Christmas had been won -- and by the good, God-fearing, Constitution-hating forces, too -- along comes another setback.

We told you last month about two Texas elementary principals who had failed to convince a federal appellate panel that they shouldn't be sued because they wouldn't let students distribute Jesus-ed-up pencils and candy canes during Christmas parties. (Or, as the heathen infidels would no doubt put it, "Xmas parties.")

Now the full 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals -- a haven for Republicans -- has decided they want to reconsider the panel's decision.

"A member of the court having requested a poll on the petition for rehearing en banc," the order says, using the legal term meaning "by the full court of appeals." A majority of the active judges voted in favor.

People, this is very, very ominous. When Satan begins operating through the auspices of the 5th Circuit, the End Days are near.

No wonder birds and fish are dying in Arkansas.

We can only hope this is the Battle of the Bulge of the War on Christmas, where the forces of evil staged a brief, last-minute, temporarily successful counterattack before they were smited forever by God, or Patton.

My Voice Nation Help

This whole 'War' on Xmas peeves me. People spend more time pretending to be offended by everyone else - that the WHOLE holiday is ruined.

If you don't want Jesus pencils - don't take it. If you don't want to hand out Jesus pencils - then don't. But just don't mock either side. The most I have ever heard about Kwanzaa was this year with Michael Berry. Bla bla bla-ing over how it's a made up holiday and the inventor of it is a heathen. Well...that may be. But, I doubt that anyone who celebrates Kwanzaa (which is about 10 percent of blacks) sits and spits on Christmas and whines and moans about it all. Christmas is just as made up...it's no where in the Bible. And if Christians are SO offended by anything being taken away from them...then get rid of your trees and presents and anything paganistic and just celebrate Christ on that day.

What people overlook is taking away any positive from anything they don't like or don't understand. Educate themselves...heaven forbid. There are principals of Kwanzaa...7 of them. We should all be doing those things year around. Period. But instead, people mock it. No one's stealing your Xmas. No one's taking CHRIST out of anything. But at the same time...if people want to hand out Jesus anything...then send them to a private school. I don't send my daughter to school to get Jesus on anything - that's a personal issue and should remain as such.

We shouldn't care if someone says Happy Holidays....at least they're making a friggin effort to say SOMETHING!

*okay...stepping off my soap box. whew
