Outsmarted By Your Smartphone? T-Mobile Wants To Help
What's so great about the holidays? You never wear those horrendous sweaters from Grandma, all the money you get burns a hole in your pocket, and you forget to use all of your gift cards, which eventually expire. Don't fret -- a local T-Mobile store is offering you something you can actually use: free smartphone apps and lessons on how to use them.

Tomorrow from noon to 2 p.m, the Bellaire Boulevard T-Mobile store is throwing a high-tech holiday party featuring four smart phone giveaways, a $100 gift card, and free app downloads all in the name of charity. Suck on that, iPhone users.
Anyone who visits the location and brings in a toy to donate to La Rosa Family Services will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a new phone, among other prizes.
La Rosa Family Services is a Houston-area non-profit organization that assists families, primarily women and children, exposed to domestic violence and abuse.
T-Mobile will also donate $5,000 to La Rosa Family Services.
T-Mobile is hosting the event to show new smartphone users the different ways cell phone apps can help them plan for the holidays -- everything from finding recipes online to making Christmas shopping lists. And if you still don't know how to use your phone? T-Mobile wants to help.
"The day's goal is for every customer to walk out of the store 100 percent satisfied," said store manager Daniel Un.
He said attendees will get the chance to enjoy food, face painting and the greatest gift of all - the chance to download free apps. "These apps will not only help you for the holidays, but will make life very easy in the future for you too," said Daniel.
Un's store just opened two weeks ago. He said the community event was "like a grand opening for the store, and an investment for the customer."
