Early Warning: No Light Rail This Weekend
Metro is closing the system starting at 8 p.m. Friday, and it won't be back up until midnight Sunday.
The Texas Children's Hospital is building a new pedestrian bridge over Fannin, and they can't do that without trains going through all the time. So you can give it up for sick kids, right?
During weekend construction, customers will be provided bus service immediately adjacent to the rail line, with two exceptions. In Downtown Houston, buses will operate on Travis (northbound) and Fannin (southbound) between UH‐Downtown and the Downtown Transit Center. The other exception will be in the Texas Medical Center (TMC), where buses will operate on Main Street between the TMC and Cambridge Street (formerly Macgregor).
