Warrior Spirit: Vets Band Looks For Members
Delacerda, from Houston, is the founding member of Warrior Spirit, a duo of combat vets that he hopes to grow into a larger band.
Delacerda came home from Iraq a retired Staff Sgt. with wounds from an IED, turned to music to get him through the rough spots.
He'd been a drummer in various heavy metal bands before his stint, and he's looking to start a band of wounded warriors to tour Armed Forces bases and perform and share their stories.
"As musicians we have the ability to share our love of music with others and present our story through lyrics and sound," he says on the group's website. "The Warrior Spirit Band has the potential to do so much for our men and women of the armed forces that have sacrificed their ability to lead a normal life after being wounded or disabled in a combat zone."
Delacerda is teaming with gijams.com, which helps other veterans' musical groups get off the ground.
Delacerda wants to spread the word about his band to anyone who'd like to try out for hit. Check out the website for contact information.
