Metro "Clarifies" That Feds' Ruling Will Delay Light Rail Construction
That's not the case this morning.
The agency has put out a "Clarification" because, it says, "When errors of fact or inaccurate statements are made, the NEW METRO will quickly 'own it' and issue an immediate correction or clarification."
Here's what the "New Metro" had to say:
Anyone want to take the under on "up to one year"?CLARIFICATION REGARDING RAIL CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE
At yesterday's media availability at City Hall concerning the FTA's "Buy America" findings, questions were asked about the effect of the findings on the schedule for completing construction on METRO's North, Southeast and East End light rail lines. When errors of fact or inaccurate statements are made, the NEW METRO will quickly "own it" and issue an immediate correction or clarification. Such is the case regarding the schedule.
Following additional consultation with project managers, it is now clear that meeting the October, 2013 completion date for the North, Southeast and East End rail lines is not feasible. At this point in time, a delay of up to one year is anticipated to complete construction on the three lines.
