Because of scheduling quirks, the Shell Houston Open doesn't always draw the best fields of participants in golf. Tiger Woods has never played it.

Last year it was won by England's Paul Casey, and most casual sports fans couldn't place the name. That's because it was his first win on the PGA Tour.

If Houston didn't exactly know Casey, Casey has definitely not forgotten Houston. Today he announced he'd be giving $100,000 to a Houston charity as a way of saying thanks to the city that saw his first title on the tour.

Casey said he would work with the Houston Golf Association to pick the charity. Give them a call; we're sure they want to hear from every charitable institution around. You probably don't even need to be registered, or keep receipts, or not.

We are now waiting word on how much money J.B. Holmes, runner-up last year, will donate.
Surely it's gotta be $50,000 at least.
