It May Be Easier To Early-Vote In Montrose This Year
Waits were long and tedious at the center, located near downtown close to West Gray & Waugh. Voters faced waits up to two hours to cast an early ballot; many gave up.
Maybe -- maybe -- it will be different this year. Harris County has negotiated with the city and will have space for twice as many voting machines, the elections office tells Hair Balls.
"Of the 36 early voting sites, the West Gray early voting location will have the most voting booth in Harris County and twice the number compared to the 2004 Presidential Election," says Hector DeLeon, director of communications for county clerk Beverly Kaufman.
There will be 58 E-Slate machines.
Of course, twice as many machines means cutting the wait time in half, which still leaves some people with an hour-long wait.
