There’s been an unfortunate oversight in this week’s Press celebrating all-things Houston. Somehow, we failed to include the category Best Fountain That Appears To Be Bubbling Liquid Poop. The winner: Bob and Vivian Smith Fountain at Polk and Smith.

I walk by this fountain everyday and did notice the urine-taint to the water color (at least no smell). What amazes me about this fountain is our City's public works department is unable to make the water clear - I mean it's actually moving the works is all but done for you!
The other downtown fountains were lucky not to be subject to this advertising since they are mostly on private property and not desperate for ad revenue. See more downtown fountain photos at:

A nationwode Showtime promotion for their serial-killer TV show, "Dexter." Before anyone slams the network, the city could have just said no to the check. Despite the fountain disrespect, IMO the show is pretty good.
