There's no Sunday school in Katy ISD that we know of.
If reports are true, teachers today are scoring huge points in making bad decisions. Just days apart, reports are surfacing about teachers allegedly behaving badly with students. Maybe since it's the end of the year, these educators are losing their last bit of sanity just before summer break.

Last week, news came out that a Spring woman allegedly gave an Aldine middle school student a full-contact lap dance for his birthday.

Today, Katy school district parents were sent an email about a middle school teacher charged with a felony after the teacher allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

We know, these charges are far too common nowadays and it's sad. This isn't the 1980s; no one is hot for teacher.

Looks as if in the most recent incident, a Katy Independent School District police officer may have broken up something going on in a teacher's portable classroom last night. We can only speculate, which we won't. Details are sure to come out about this latest incident.

Here's the email that the school district sent around today:

From: Communications Department Date: Monday, April 28, 2014 Subject: KJH Incident Notification

Dear Katy ISD Parents and Staff,

Yesterday evening school administration learned that a Katy Junior High social studies teacher was arrested on campus by Katy ISD Police for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with one of our students.

The teacher is being charged with a second degree felony for improper relationship between educator and student. The teacher and student were found in the teacher's portable classroom by a KISD Police Officer patrolling the campus on Sunday evening. The teacher has been removed from the classroom and placed on administrative leave, pending investigation.

Because the investigation is still ongoing, we are unable to provide additional information at this time, but please be assured the District takes this allegation very seriously and is fully cooperating with prosecutors. Parents of students who may have been taught by, or interacted on a regular basis with, are being contacted directly.

Providing a safe and secure learning environment is and will continue to be our top priority, and we will always act swiftly when that is compromised. Likewise, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure the safety of our students.
