Weather Week: Ring in the New Year with a Jacket
For the most part, 2013 has been a relatively uneventful year for the weather. The Atlantic Hurricane Season was a giant dud and we managed to get ourselves out of the drought, finally. But, one thing has felt true of this year more than the past couple, it's been chilly. By all normal estimates, our weather has been about average in terms of temperature, but it has felt a tad colder this year than the last couple winters.

That won't change much this week as highs will remain in the 50s and lower 60s and lows in the 30s and low 40s through the weekend. New Year's Eve should be overcast with highs in the low 50s and a low around 44. There is a slight chance of rain late in the day on the first, but it's not much before the clouds begin to clear out a bit for the rest of the week.
The good news is that there won't be rain for New Year's Eve which, if you recall, is quite different from the deluge we had last year at this time. That should keep streets dry at a time when people don't seem to drive particularly well. Stay safe out there and Happy New Year!
