Ted Cruz Part II: The Tea Party Is Going to "Primary" Senator Cornyn
Senator John Cornyn is no one's idea of a liberal. Senator Cornyn is no one's idea of a RINO or a squish. Indeed, the non-partisan Nation Journal ranked Cornyn the second most conservative member of the U.S. Senate. As Talking Points Memo reports on Cornyn's conservative bona fides:
He's a Liberal Now
He has an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association, has won multiple awards from the anti-tax group Americans for Tax Reform, has a 0 percent rating from the pro-choice NARAL and a 100 percent rating from the National Right To Life Committee.
So if you're asking for a Republican senator, you've got it in Cornyn.
But Texas Tea Party MC Steve Stockman is going to challenge Cornyn in the Republican primary -- he's going to "primary" him (it's a verb now). Why? Well, according to an interview with conservative blog World Net Daily:
Stockman told WND he is filing the paperwork Monday evening and that he is running against his fellow Republican because, "We are extremely disappointed in the way he treated his fellow congressmen and broke the 11th commandment and undermined (Sen.) Ted Cruz's fight to stop Obamacare."
(The 11th Commandment, btw, is "Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican," which was popularized by Reagan but he did not coin the phrase as is the popular belief.)
