Sort of like Super Mario Bros., but with abortions.
Some rabble-rousing pro-choicers are developing a video game that will "illustrate a woman's quest to obtain an abortion in the Lone Star State," according to the New York Daily News.

In "Choice:Texas," the player picks one of five female characters to overcome "the struggle with geography, time and money to obtain abortions," according to developers Carly Kocurek and Allyson Whipple. So basically, it's like Donkey Kong except instead of jumping over giant barrels to get at a gigantic angry ape, you're doing paperwork.

From the Daily News story: "Characters in the game include 35-year-old Latrice, who is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, but 'never planned to have children.' Another character is Leah, 19, who is a bartender and trying to save money for the future."

There's also "a high school student not ready to be a mother, a woman in a high-risk pregnancy, and a married mother in dire financial circumstances."

The developers told Persephone Magazine in August, "Think of it as a choose-your-own adventure story," according to the Daily News. [Want a cheeseburger? Turn to page 47. Want to abort that fetus? Turn to page 106.]

The developers are trying to raise $9,250 to cover development costs of the game, "which is slated to drop in February." We hope they reach their goal -- this game sounds like fun for the whole family.
