Welcome to a Harsh World: Infant in Middle of Shootout That Leaves His Dad & a 15-Year-Old Dead

We should at least be happy that eight-month-olds remember nothing of what happens to them.

One such infant got a shocking introduction to the world Tuesday when he watched from the back seat as attackers ambushed his father at a northwest side apartment complex in a wild shootout that left two dead and another in critical condition.

Among the dead were the child's father and a 15-year-old who was one of the attackers.

The father, the child and the child's mother were returning to their home in an apartment complex in the 5300 block of West Gulf Bank about 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Houston police say, when the attack occurred.

The father, 23, was pronounced dead at Houston Northwest Hospital and the 15-year-old was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. The injured suspected attacker, 19, is in critical condition at Ben Taub.

Neither the mother nor the infant was injured.

No names have been released pending notifications of relatives. The Houston Chronicle reported the details not in the HPD report and said cops on the scene thought the incident may be gang-related.

by the word welcome for the title... everyone can obviously see the ignorance foolishness and plain stupidity about the 2nd law of the land.....if firearms are continued to be used to assert simple ego based issues there is a strong common psychosis in the united states of america...the free most opportunistic country on earth....that actually has a written law reguarding firearms..... and its only the ignorance of its public that causes all firearm issues, believe it or not.
