Weekly Weather: It Might Feel Like Spring, But It's Not Here Just Yet
February, despite recent evidence to the contrary, can be one of the colder months of the year for Houston. A couple years back, we had snow and temperatures in the 20s, but not this year. This year, our friends post pictures of themselves online wearing t-shirts and sipping margaritas on patios, or maybe that was us.
Either way, it's been beautiful and mild over the last week and the mild part will continue, but it might night be quite so nice out. On Monday, a few rain showers swept through the area and the clouds should hang around with an increasing chance of rain into late Wednesday. Depending upon how things work out, we could get a good soaking Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
We do need the rain as the drought conditions still exist throughout much of the area, but with the rain will come the mugginess we all so love to hate come spring and summer. Sure, we sweat all damn day, but our skin looks fantastic!
By the end of the week, a continued chance of rain should finally give way to slightly cooler weather this weekend with nearly a repeat of the last few days. Still, no significant colder weather is forecast for the next 10 days, so enjoy the mild weather while our friends north of the Mason-Dixon line shovel snow and drape on layer after layer of clothes. We'll be enjoying a cool drink on the patio, thank you very much.
