Rick Perry Steps Up His War With California (Now That The Guv Is Jerry Brown, Not Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Apparently happy with the headlines he got for a $24,000 radio-ad buy urging California businesses to come to Texas, Texas Governor Rick Perry is stepping up his game.![]()
He tweeted the above message, warning Californians (and tipping off reporters) that there's more merriment in store.
We couldn't help but notice that Perry has taken on California at a time when its governor is no longer the terminatin' Arnold Schwarzenegger but the bookish Zen master Jerry Brown.
But Perry should watch out -- Brown seems eager to engage.
When reporters asked him about the radio buys, he scoffed at both Perry's plan and the journalists asking him about it.
"It's not a serious story, guys," Brown said. "It's not a burp. It's barely a fart. If they want to get in the game, let them spend $25 million on radio and television. Then I'll take them seriously."
Rick Perry -- Barely a Fart. The 2015-16 campaign slogan is settled!
The ad buy and Perry's trip are being paid for by Texas One, a coalition of big Texas businesses.
The trip begins next week. We wait eagerly to see if Perry can attain fart status.
