Marquiez Pratt also faces drug charges.
A four-year-old boy found his father's stolen pistol in his living room and accidentally shot himself to death with it Sunday morning, police say.

Jaiden Pratt had been visiting his father for the weekend; the father had been asleep on the couch in the apartment when the boy found the gun about 8:10 a.m. Sunday in the 13500 block of Northville.

He accidentally shot himself in the stomach, police say.

The father, 20-year-old Marquiez Deshon Pratt, has been charged with injury to a child by omission and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Police say when they arrived in answer to a 911 call, Pratt "handed his son to responding officers and then ran back to his apartment."

Police officers chased him inside and found weed, crack and "scales and other items used to sell drugs," HPD says.

Police officers not involved in that foot chase performed CPR on the boy, to no avail. Police say the gun used was a stolen .40-caliber semiautomatic pistol, taken in a 2011 burglary.

Everyone has free will. We have to live with our choices, I have my own to regret. This man will have this choice he made forever, I wouldn't want it.

Even if she knew of his "occupation" she would be in contempt if there was court ordered visitation. That's how the Texas OAG works. It's sick.

They should allow the boy's mother to beat this man to death. Unless she knew of his "occupation" and allowed her son over there anyway.
