Chris Kyle, shot to death
You might never have heard of Chris Kyle until this weekend, but he was known as America's deadliest sniper for his work in Iraq and wrote a book titled American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History.

The 38-year-old former Navy SEAL had more than 150 confirmed kills and returned to America determined to help other vets adjust.

He was helping one of those vets, Eddie Ray Routh, 25, at a Dallas-area gun range when Routh turned on him and a friend of Kyle's, shooting both. Routh's been charged with two cases of capital murder, according to a DPS press release.

The event has, predictably, brought a wide range of Web reaction, like these five:

5. JudenChino, on Gawker:

Kinda interesting that one week after the most decorated sniper in US history speaks out against Obama, he is killed? I'm not saying Obama had anything to do with this, I'm just saying these questions should be asked.

My other suspicion is that this was God's work. You don't take over 200 of his children from this world, without angering him a little bit.

4. ALcard, on Sean Hannity's forum:

Someone got shot! Quick! Lets use this to argue for more gun control!

3. Krecks Donna, on KHOU:

Thanks Chris Kyle for doing your part in making the world safer for the banksters and big multinational corporations so that they can have American jobs shipped over to the Far East and then donate some of the proceeds to Obama, Cuomo, and Feinstein so that they can ban guns and turn us into serfs.

2. al baby on Free Republic (in between threads discusssing how Obama's skeet photo was photoshopped, and in response to a commenter who had said "Something stinks to high heaven on this story":

That was my first thought too. Taking out the SEALS and the generals....

1. vintage3000, on the Huffington Post:

"What I know is Chris and a gentleman -- great guy, I knew him well, Chad Littlefield -- took a veteran out shooting who was struggling with PTSD to try to assist him, try to help him, try to, you know, give him a helping hand and he turned the gun on both of them, killing them," Cox said."

Now for all the flag waving gun advocates: instead of hollering about traitorous, insensitive libs can you explain the logic of how bringing someone with PTSD to a shooting range is giving them a "helping hand"? Anyone?

Hate to see a SEAL go, but it has to be said:  Live by the sword, die by the sword

These are the same creepy right-wingers who reported that they were tearing down Reagan's boyhood home to build a parking lot for the Obama Library.

Drudge, World Net Daily....they all cite each other as sources, so like, it's gotta be true.

My wife said Number One, in almost the same words.
