Come See Some Cool Cats at the Houston Cat Club's 60th Anniversary Show
Want to see some purrty cats (get it?) and help raise money for animal humane organizations at the same time? Then you're in luck: The Houston Cat Club will hold its 60th annual show January 5 and 6 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. 
Cat fanciers will be in heaven next weekend.
The show has raised more than $800,000 for cat charities in its 60 years, according to a group spokesperson. At least 300 entries are expected from across the country -- both pedigreed and non-pedigreed.
"In addition to the judging, spectators can also watch cats running an agility course, or visit one of the 50 vendor booths with pet-related items," according to a press release. "One of the most well-attended events is the costumed-cat contest at noon on Saturday."
The show will also feature Walker, a 25-pound Maine coon cat; two local veterinarians will also be on hand to answer questions. There's also an education area for kids.
The show runs from 10 to 5 on Saturday and 9 to 4 on Sunday. Adults pay $9.50; members of the military and folks 65 and up pay $7; kids 5-12 pay $4.
