Frustrated by the Recent Heat? Winter Is Making a Comeback

Don't drive angry...don't drive angry!
"Rise and shine and don't forget your booties, 'cause it's cold outside," is how the radio deejay woke Bill Murray up in Groundhog Day every morning. And while we won't have a blanket of snow on the ground, sing morning polkas (most of us anyway) or live in Punxsutawney, next week we're going to break this record heat and land ourselves right smack dab back in the middle of winter.

I know that many of you have been upset because you don't like decorating or buying presents in the heat and humidity we've been feeling lately. Well, buck up there, Kris Kringle, because oh, by gosh, by golly, it's time for freaking mistletoe and holly. These record temps reaching the low 80s will be swept out of here late Sunday along with those holiday blues, dropping highs into the 50s and lows into the 30s. Yeah, I said 30s.

That pattern will set up for a few days as we gradually warm back into the 70s, but don't cry or pout or anything that will piss off Santa or Elf on the Shelf because there is a fairly good chance we could get an even colder shot of winter weather the week before Christmas that might include our first freeze...you know, Jack Frost nipping at your nose and all that.

So, get that mulled wine and eggnog ready, buff your Uggs or whatever fleece-lined monstrosities you put on your feet and get ready to make Christmas your bitch, because, baby, it's about to be cold outside.
