Mitchell Deon Tucker, 20, Shot While Allegedly Attempting Armed Robbery: Bayou Body Count No. 205
At about 10 p.m. Tuesday night, at the Vanderbilt Apartments (126690 Medfield) on Houston's west side, Mitchell Deon Tucker, 20, was shot to death allegedly attempting to rob a pair of would-be victims in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The two men, residents of the complex, were standing in the parking lot when they were approached by Tucker and two accomplices armed with pistols who demanded wallets, cell phones and keys.
Seeing the victims had little money on them, the three assailants threatened to kill them at which time one of the victims, 23 and a concealed handgun license holder, pulled a weapon and shot both Tucker and one of the other alleged robbers. Tucker was pronounced dead upon arrival at Ben Taub General Hospital. The other suspect is at the same hospital in serious condition. The third suspect, described only as a black male, fled the scene and has yet to be found.
