Local Woman Poses as Teen Girl Online to Catch Alleged Facebook Predator
Acccording to court documents, "Jessica," a 36-year-old Houston-area woman was creeped out by an acquaintance of hers, 26-year-old Daniel Riekstins of Webster.
Daniel Riekstins: A not-creepy-at-all pic from one of the three Facebook accounts he had under his own name.
Jessica had heard that Riekstins's behavior with underage teen girls was suspicious and that his relationships with some of them had been inappropriate. (None has been proven to be so, nor is he charged with sexual assault.)
Just to see how low Riekstins would go, back in September, Jessica created a bogus Facebook account, purportedly belonging to a hot-to-trot 15-year-old. She then sent Riekstins a friend request and it was accepted.
According to the arrest affidavit, Jessica immediately disclosed her age as 15.
"I like younger women," came Riekstins's reassuring reply.
Jessica then asked him if he would have sex with a 15-year-old.
"Yeah u call me," was his alleged reply.
After that, according to the affidavit, the messages became very sexually explicit, and Riekstins pressured Jessica to meet him for sex.
And that was when Jessica turned over the messages to the cops. Police confirmed that Riekstins sent the messages from his home computer, and then got a warrant to search his Facebook account, which, according to the documents, confirmed "that the defendant attempts communications with many juvenile females."
And many have apparently accepted those requests, at times to their regret.
On one of those pages, on October 30, a young woman had this to say:
"Stop calling, texting, and being a straight up creep. SERIOUSLY," and then added, " I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THE FUCK YOU GOT THAT NUMBER BUT JUST FUCK OFF."
Back in June, on another of those pages, another young lady posted this:
"THIS GOES TO THIS OLD CREEPER LEAVE ME ALONE STOP CALLING OR TEXTING ME AND GET A LIFE!!!!!! And your tagged in this bitch so you can get the picture and leave me alone -- with Daniel Riekstins."
Also on that page, on September 4, another young girl cryptically posted that she "loved her new boyfriend" and tagged Riekstins. He replied that he loved her too, but apparently she didn't love him enough to send him a friend request, because he had to beg her to send him one six times before she finally relented on October 16.
And once they finally tied the Facebook friend knot, she immediately had a question for Riekstins.
"Why do you have two pages?" He never replied, and he's lucky she did not find the third one, I guess. At any rate, he is no longer listed among her friends.
Other fun facts from his Facebook pages: On one he lists his interests as "animals" and "Hustler" and belongs to a group called "Add Me Please: I'm horny." On another he touts his interest in the Goosebumps book series, Legos, and Jolly Ranchers, none of which is creepy at all in this context, nor is his love for Selena Gomez.
Riekstins faces a single count of online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.
