Kevin Meyer, Harris County Sheriff's Deputy, Arrested At His Own Wedding; Fellow Deputy Also Charged in SPJST Hall Fracas (UPDATED: Charges Dropped)

Harris County Jail Kevin Meyer: Late start to honeymoon for this jailed jailer.
Apparently Harris County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Meyer's Saturday night wedding reception was a doozy, because at some point, management at the SPJST Hall on Beall Street in the Heights area wanted to pull the plug on the shindig.
Two Precinct One constables were working security at this raucous fandango, and according to published reports, the father of the groom shoved one of the constables when he or she attempted to bring the party to a close. When the other constable swooped in to try to arrest the elder Meyer, the groom and guest Christopher Lock, also a deputy, allegedly interfered.
According to the arrest affidavit, Meyer grabbed the constable's hand while she was attempting to cuff his dad.
He has been charged with class B misdemeanor interfering with the duties of a public servant. The jailer has since been released from his place of work on $500 bail.
Harris County Jail Christopher Lock: Patrolman also arrested.
Lock, who unfortunately for punning purposes is a patrolman rather than a jailer, was charged with trespassing for refusing to leave the famous bingo parlor when instructed to by management. He has paid his $1,000 bond.
Meyer and Lock are due in court on Friday.
So. Wow. Two cops get arrested by the two cops one of them paid to help keep the peace at his wedding.
P.S.: Betcha didn't know (and can't pronounce) the full name of the SPJST Hall, which has become famous recently for its wildly popular Thursday bingo nights. It's the Slovanska Podporujici Jednota Statu Texas, which means Slavonic Benevolent Order of the State of Texas.
Too bad that things were neither benevolent nor orderly on this particular Texas Saturday night.
