Dramatic photos are coming in from the scene in Dallas where Big Tex, the 52-foot-tall mascot of the State Fair, has done gone ahead and caught himself on fire.

The blaze, which left just a skeleton frame on the dude, began this morning at about 10:30, KHOU reports and our sister paper the Dallas Observer reports.

Big Tex may have set himself on fire in protest. Probably not over mistreatment of animals, though. We may never know. I predict a cover up.
