UPDATED: Flash Flooding Will Be a Problem Through Early Afternoon
UPDATE 8:30 a.m. -- More than 14,000 residents are without power thanks to the storms rolling through. A line of storms is moving very slowly through the entire area and will continue to be a problem through lunch.

Original Post: The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch yesterday that extends through 2 p.m. today, which has turned into a Flash Flood Warning for parts of Harris and surrounding counties. Their concerns about potentially heavy rains developing through the morning hours were right on the money as a line of serious thunderstorms is moving through the Houston area this morning.
Because the ground in Houston is already saturated thanks to nearly a week's worth of rain, additional heavy downpours are likely to create street and even potentially some bayou flooding. Naturally, this is happening during rush hour. It should continue through around lunchtime or even early afternoon, though the heaviest rains should get through the Houston area before then.
The bad news is that there will continue to be a good chance of rain right through the weekend and into next week. The good news is that last year at this time, it was dry as a desert with high temperatures in the triple digits. So, you know, welcome to Texas weather!
