Charles Marion Robertson, 71, Fatally Shot by 70-Year-Old Brother-in-Law, Bayou Body Count No. 104

Shot by brother-in-law inside their house.
It's been an oddly murderous week or so in the Harris County area, but this may be the strangest of the bunch. According to police, Charles Marion Robertson was at home with his brother-in-law, who apparently lived in the same house, when the two got into an argument. Police say Robertson approached the unnamed brother-in-law, who feared for his life and shot Robertson, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crazy part is both men were in their 70s! The 70-year-old was allegedly in fear of his life from a threatening 71-year-old, who also happened to be his brother-in-law. Well, you know, in-laws. No word on what they were arguing about.

The incident took place at 5706 Saxon just north of Mangum in what is generally a pretty quiet neighborhood near Oak Forest. The 70-year-old brother-in-law was not injured, probably because, well, he had the gun.

The case is being referred to a grand jury. It will be interesting to see how they handle it.
