Lyons's suit accuses TDCJ of making shit up.
Michelle Lyons, who left the Texas Department of Criminal Justice last month after accusing her bosses of retaliating against her for answering a media inquiry from a blogger critical of the department, has sued the TDCJ in federal court.

Filed on Monday, the suit alleges that Lyons was demoted from director of public information to public information officer after TDCJ wrongly accused her of "keeping inaccurate time."

Even though Lyons "always kept her time as she had been instructed to do by her previous supervisors," according to the suit, she was suspended for five days and then placed on nine months' probation. Her pay was also cut.

The suit alleges that Lyons's male co-workers, who documented their time in the same manner, weren't disciplined.

TDCJ has thus far remained mum on the issue, so we'll have to wait until a response is filed.

Lyons worked at TDCJ for 11 years, and was one of the best flacks -- public or private sector -- we've ever dealt with, so we're a little puzzled by this whole situation, and dang curious to see what kind of evidence will be produced. Stay tuned.
