Tina Madrid, charged with murder.
The bizarre, tragic story of ten-year-old Jonathan Singer took another turn yesterday when police arrested his mother for his murder.

The body of Singer, who had cerebral palsy, was found in a cardboard box in his father's Kia about one year ago. The boy's father said he had drowned in a bathtub, but was charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

Shortly after midnight Wednesday, Texas City police arrested the boy's mother, Tina Madrid, and charged her with murder, the Galveston County Daily News reports.

Police told the News that a lengthy investigation by the medical examiner determined the boy's death was a homicide.

Madrid, 42, is in Galveston County Jail on a $50,000 bond on the murder warrant from Harris County. The boy's body was discovered in Spring Branch.

In her somewhat disturbing mugshot, Madrid appears to be wearing a Stanford sweatshirt.

I'm shocked. Judging from the picture I would have thought she was a functional, well-adjusted citizen.

Poor kid should not have suffered for ten years. Chick (can this be considered that) should have done society a favor and put herself in a cardboard box TWELVE years ago.
